HexaGroup, a digital marketing agency in Houston, announces the launch of the 2014 Biennial FotoFest website.

FotoFest is an international non-profit photographic arts and education organization on a mission to promote creativity through international programs and the presentation of photographic art. The organization created the first international Biennial of Photography and Photo-Related Art in the United States more than 25 years ago. The city-wide photography festival consists of exhibitions of photography, video, and multi-media installations from artists all around the world.

HexaGroup has been a sponsor of this event for more than 15 years, and was excited to attend FotoFest 2014 Biennial Opening Night, said HexaGroup President Arnaud Dasprez.

“FotoFest is one of the largest photography events in the world, and it is an honor as a creative firm to be associated with such a unique event attracting so many talented artists,” he said. “We are also proud that this is a Houston-based initiative as it shows that it is more than just an oil town. FotoFest demonstrates the cultural strength of Houston and its inhabitants.”

Taking place March 15 through April 27, the fifteenth international Biennial of Photography and Photo-Related Art focuses on Contemporary Arab Video, Photography, and Multi-Media art.

Designed by HexaGroup, the FotoFest 2014 Biennial website was created using responsive web design to adapt to various viewing devices and screen sizes. This is the first time the event’s site has been responsive – an essential feature according to Dasprez as most people visiting FotoFest will be accessing the site from a mobile device.

HexaGroup incorporated various interactive features to ensure the site was optimized for users “on the go” who need to quickly obtain information about events, times, and locations.

The multiple level event calendar was designed to make it easier for users to find one of the 140+ locations displaying FotoFest art. It includes a “What’s happening today?” feature for users to quickly view events currently taking place, while also giving them the option to filter by new, ongoing, or all events. With the interactive map feature, users can identify exhibitions near their current location or specific areas of the city, as well as obtain information regarding venue location and operating hours.
