Seagate has a 50-year legacy in enterprise hardware, data logistics and data security. Over the last decade, it has invested significantly in data mobility and cloud services, which are trusted by leading global businesses. However, Seagate was struggling to market these data services to E&P companies. Its business development team reached out to HexaGroup for strategic guidance.

Positioning & Validation
We drew from our energy domain expertise to develop two value propositions for Seagate’s offering. Then, we asked potential customers to help validate our hypothesis. Through extensive SME surveys, we gained key insights into the industry’s data management pain points and developed a final value proposition that reflected the intricacies, and headaches, of managing data in the energy industry.

Creative & Rollout
To support Seagate’s new energy industry positioning — the “plug and play” data logistics partner that lets you do data your way — we developed supporting brand visuals and marcom messaging. We rolled out this new creative in a succinct energy sales deck. Developed as a template, the new deck helped our client accomplish two key goals: communicating more effectively to energy prospects and maintaining consistency across multiple team members’ pitches.
