The Challenge and Opportunity
Houston Mechatronics, an ocean robotics firm, faced an urgent need to refresh its brand. The company was preparing to go public, but potential investors expressed concerns about the Houston Mechatronics name and its implications for conducting business on a global scale.
The company turned to HexaGroup for support. We developed a plan that included a rebranding initiative, website redesign, updates to existing marketing collateral, and the creation of new promotional materials. HexaGroup executed a marketing, design, and development blitz to transform Houston Mechatronics into Nauticus Robotics.

New Identity
Nauticus Robotics aims to revolutionize the way ocean resources are developed. Working closely with founder and visionary Nic Radford, we helped shape the messaging around "Green Robotics for a Blue Economy," underscoring the company's focus on sustainability. We refined the company's logo, developed a new color palette and typography, and established a consistent brand structure across all channels. These elements were integrated into both existing and new marketing collateral. To amplify the rebrand, HexaGroup created a press release that garnered coverage from more than 200 news outlets.

Website Redesign
Nauticus Robotics needed a new website that would reflect its mission and positioning in the blue economy space. After aligning on a creative direction, the HexaGroup team launched into a high-speed development sprint to design, populate, test, and launch the new NauticusRobotics.com. The project evolved from a single landing page into a full multi-page website, requiring additional copy, imagery, 3D design assets, and the development of custom modules like a resource center and investor relations hub. The final result was what Nauticus Robotics’ CEO described as an “industry-leading” website — mobile-friendly, fully responsive, and equipped with the functionality expected from a forward-thinking tech company.

Upgraded Marketing Collateral
While the Nauticus Robotics brand had begun to take shape internally, remnants of the Houston Mechatronics identity remained. Legacy materials featured outdated specifications and branding. HexaGroup overhauled the company’s collateral using the new visual identity, product photography, and 3D renderings. We collaborated with product managers and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy in all specifications. Our marketing refresh also included an investor presentation redesign, updated roll-up banners, a magazine ad promoting sustainability goals, and a flyer to help employees communicate the rebrand.

The Result
Delivering a brand transformation of this scale within a compressed timeline required deep collaboration, agility, and coordination between the HexaGroup and Nauticus Robotics teams. The rebrand was a success — complete with a bold new identity, an engaging digital presence, and an upgraded suite of marketing tools.
